What office coverage covers

Whether you call it chiropractic office coverage, vacation coverage, or temporary associate support, it's the same service: a licensed, insured Doctor of Chiropractic seeing your patients on your protocols so your practice stays open while you're away — backed by 13+ years of running his own practice, so he understands what's actually at stake when you hand over the chair.

Your patients. Your office. Your protocols. Your cover doctor.

No staffing agency markup. No complicated placement process. No unknowns. Transparent rates.

Coverage & assistance

Half or full days at your practice — vacation, leave, conferences, or an open associate seat. Regional day rates plus mileage. Confirmed instantly with a 10% deposit.

Extra hands, not just full coverage

You don't have to be out of the office to book. Some practices just need an additional doctor for a busy day, week, or month of high patient volume.

Coverage dates

Add one date at a time — mix full and half days, consecutive or scattered across weeks. Mileage is charged once per continuous run of days, not once per date, since a scattered schedule means separate trips out.

Leave blank for the standard block. If you know your actual hours, entering them here bills any time beyond the booked block automatically — no separate invoice needed. A 60-minute lunch is deducted from full-day hours before anything is billed as extra.

Frequently asked

Chiropractic coverage, answered

What is chiropractic office coverage?

Chiropractic office coverage is when a licensed doctor of chiropractic steps in to see your patients while you're away — for a vacation, continuing education, medical leave, or an open associate seat. Your patients keep their appointments and their care plan continues instead of your office closing.

How do I book chiropractic vacation coverage for my practice?

Choose your region and dates on the booking page, get an instant rate quote including mileage, and confirm with a 10% deposit. Your coverage is confirmed immediately and a signed agreement is completed as part of checkout.

Do you provide temporary chiropractic associate coverage?

Yes. Whether you call it office coverage, vacation coverage, or temporary associate support, the service is the same: a licensed, insured Doctor of Chiropractic seeing your patients on your protocols while you're out, comfortable handling high-volume schedules of 100+ patients a day.

What areas of Florida do you cover for chiropractic office coverage?

Coverage is available across North, Central, and South Florida, including the Orlando, Tampa, Jacksonville, Miami, and Fort Lauderdale areas, with rates set by region.

How much does chiropractic office coverage cost?

Office coverage runs $325–$375 for under 4 hours and $575–$625 for 4–8 hours depending on region, plus $0.20 per mile one way. Additional coverage beyond 8 hours is $100/hour.

Do you also offer home visits or event coverage?

Home visits, sporting events, corporate wellness days, and travel work are booked separately at thefloridachiropractor.com.

Is same-day or emergency chiropractic coverage available?

Yes. Bookings are monitored 24/7 with fast responses at any hour — for illness, emergencies, or a practice that's suddenly short-staffed. If you find out at midnight that your associate won't be there in the morning, that's exactly the kind of request that gets an immediate response, not a next-business-day one. Same-day and next-day dates also get an automatic 10% discount.

Do you offer help if I just need extra hands, not full coverage?

Yes. Office coverage isn't only for when you're away — it's also booked by practices that are in the office but simply need an additional doctor for a busy day, week, or month of high patient volume.

Are there any discounts available?

Yes, and they apply automatically — no code needed. First-time practices get 10% off their first booking. After booking 3 full days of coverage (6 half days counts the same), you earn Recurring Clinic status: 5% off, active as long as you book at least once every 12 months. Any date still open within 24 hours of its start also gets an automatic 10% discount. These can stack, and are shown live in your quote before you commit.

Why Every Florida Chiropractic Practice Needs a Reliable Fill-In Doctor

Search any job board for "fill-in chiropractor" or "associate coverage" and you'll find the same ad, over and over, from practices in completely different states. A doctor needs someone for a single day here, a full week there, sometimes a standing one- or two-day-a-week arrangement that runs for months. The reasons repeat too: vacation, an illness that came up with no warning, a staffing gap between associates, an expansion into a new location, or simply more patients walking through the door than one doctor can see alone.

It's not a fluke. It's a structural gap in how most chiropractic practices are staffed — and it's one that's usually only solved after the problem has already arrived.

The pattern shows up everywhere

Practices that post these ads tend to describe almost identical situations: a full-time, experienced staff already in place, a real patient base that knows and trusts the office, and a genuine need for someone dependable — not a rotating cast of unfamiliar names from a staffing agency. The pay ranges are consistent with a serious, professional engagement, not a favor between colleagues. And the requirements are simple: a valid license in good standing and your own malpractice coverage.

What's notable is what these ads don't ask for. They don't need someone to build a patient base or run the front desk. They need a doctor who can walk in, follow the practice's existing protocols and technique preferences, and keep the day moving — whether that's a modest volume practice or one seeing 100+ patients between 8am and 6pm.

Why practices wait until they're already stuck

Most offices don't think about coverage until they need it that week. A doctor gets sick on a Tuesday, and by Wednesday the front desk is calling every chiropractor they've ever heard of, hoping someone's available. A long-planned vacation turns into a scramble two weeks out because the "we'll figure it out" plan never actually got figured out. An office finally has the patient volume to justify a second set of hands, but by the time they've decided to look, they're already turning people away.

The offices that avoid this scramble are the ones that identify a reliable option before they need one — so when the moment comes, it's a phone call or a few clicks, not a crisis.

What "reliable" actually means to a practice owner

Reading through enough of these postings, a pattern emerges in what practice owners actually value, beyond the license and the insurance certificate:

  • Familiarity. Patients notice when a stranger sees them instead of their regular doctor. A covering doctor who's seen the practice before — who knows the protocols, the technique preferences, the flow of the day — makes that transition far less jarring.
  • Volume comfort. A covering doctor who's only ever worked a slow solo practice can struggle in an office seeing 35, 45, or 100+ patients a day. Comfort at real volume isn't optional for a busy practice.
  • No back-and-forth. Practice owners are already stretched thin. The last thing they want is a multi-day negotiation over rates and availability during a week they're trying to get out the door for vacation.
  • Someone who's actually run something. A covering doctor with real business ownership experience tends to understand what's at stake for the practice — the schedule, the patient relationships, the revenue — differently than someone who's only ever been an employee.

What we built coveragechiropractor.com to solve

That's the exact gap coveragechiropractor.com exists to close for Florida practices. Published, transparent rates by region, so you know what to expect before you commit. Instant online booking — pick your dates, confirm with a deposit, and it's on the calendar, no phone tag required. A signed coverage agreement completed before checkout, so both sides know exactly what's expected. And a doctor bringing 13+ years of business ownership and practice management experience, along with extensive personal injury treatment and case management background, comfortable in high-volume practices and trained across Diversified, Gonstead, Thompson, and other core techniques.

Coverage dates don't have to be a single block, either — a practice covering three scattered half-day mornings across a few weeks can book that exactly as easily as a solid week of full days.

The practices that plan ahead don't scramble

The chiropractors posting those job board ads aren't doing anything wrong — they're just discovering the need at the worst possible time. The practices that come out ahead are the ones that have already found their answer before the vacation is booked, before the flu hits, before the new patient influx outpaces the schedule.

If that's not yet true for your practice, it's worth five minutes now rather than a scramble later. Rates, availability, and booking are all right here on this site — no call required to find out what it costs or when I'm free.

The Midnight Call: What Actually Happens When Your Associate Can't Make It Tomorrow

It's 11:47pm. Your phone lights up. Your associate — or you, if you're the only doctor — is sick, stuck, or otherwise not going to be at the office at 8am. The waiting room fills up in ten hours. What do you actually do right now, at midnight, that isn't just lying awake hoping it works out?

For most practices, the honest answer is: nothing, until morning. And by morning, the options have already narrowed to "call everyone I can think of and hope" or "close the doors and start rescheduling."

Why the usual coverage options fail at exactly this moment

Locum agencies operate during business hours, because the people answering the phone are business-hours employees. A personal network of chiropractor friends is great until you remember it's midnight and you'd be waking someone up to ask a favor, with no guarantee they're even free, licensed to cover for you, or comfortable with your patient volume. A general contact form on a website is fine for planning three weeks out — it does nothing for you at midnight when the person on the other end won't see it until they open their laptop at 9am, which is exactly when you needed an answer.

The problem isn't that practice owners don't plan. It's that the moment coverage actually gets tested — a real emergency, at a real inconvenient hour — is precisely the moment most coverage arrangements go quiet.

What "monitored 24/7" actually means in practice

On coveragechiropractor.com, a booking request doesn't sit in a queue until Monday. It's monitored around the clock, including nights and weekends, specifically because the scenario that matters most — the one where you find out at midnight and need someone at 8am — doesn't happen on a schedule. If you book a same-day request at midnight, that request gets the same fast response as one made at noon. Not a "we'll get back to you within one business day." A response built for exactly this situation.

That's the difference between a coverage option and a real safety net. A safety net that only catches you during business hours isn't one you can actually rely on.

Have the answer before you need it

You can't predict which night this happens. What you can control is whether, when it does, you already know exactly where to go — rates you've already seen, a doctor you already know is licensed and insured, and a booking process that takes minutes instead of a frantic string of phone calls. That's the entire point of building this before the emergency, not during it.

If tonight's the night, or if you'd just rather have this settled before it is: see current rates and book coverage, any hour.

More detail than the FAQ — booking mechanics, policies, and how the account portal works.

Booking & Scheduling

How do I book office coverage?

Enter your clinic ZIP code, choose the number of full days, optionally add a half day, and pick a start date. The calculator shows your region, mileage, and total live, including the 10% deposit due at booking.

How do I book 3.5 days of coverage?

Enter 3 in the Full days field and check "Add a half day" — the half day is added right after your full days, back to back, and priced at the half-day rate for your region.

What counts as a half day vs a full day?

A half day covers up to 4 hours; a full day covers up to 8 hours of clinical coverage. A full day includes one meal break of up to 60 minutes — time beyond that is billed at $100/hour, same as additional coverage beyond the booked hours.

Is coverage confirmed instantly?

Yes — office coverage is confirmed the moment your 10% deposit is processed, with no waiting for a callback.

What if I find out overnight that I need coverage first thing in the morning?

Bookings are monitored 24/7, not just during business hours. If your associate calls out sick at midnight and you need someone at 8am, book it as soon as you know — that request gets an immediate response, the same as any other same-day booking, and it also qualifies for the automatic last-minute discount.

Is there a discount for booking on short notice?

Yes — any coverage date still open the same day or the day before automatically gets 10% off that date's rate. It's applied when you build your quote, no code needed, and only affects the specific date that qualifies if you're booking multiple dates together.

Can I book coverage if I just need extra hands, not full coverage?

Yes. Office coverage is also used by practices that are in the office but need an additional doctor for a high-volume day, week, or month — you don't have to be away to book it.

Pricing & Regions

How are rates determined?

Rates are set by region — North, Central, or South Florida — based on your clinic's ZIP code. The map and rate table update automatically once you enter your ZIP.

How is mileage calculated?

Mileage is $0.20 per mile, one way, calculated automatically from your ZIP code to the provider's base location in Orlando (32801).

Is a deposit required?

Yes — a 10% deposit is charged by credit card at the time of booking. The remaining balance is invoiced after your coverage is complete.

Balance, Invoicing & Cancellation

When is my remaining balance due?

Once your coverage is marked complete, you'll receive an invoice for the remaining balance, payable by credit card via the invoice or directly in your account portal. Reminders are sent up to twice daily until it's paid in full.

What's the cancellation policy?

Cancel 48 or more hours before your coverage start date for a full refund. Cancelling inside 48 hours forfeits the deposit portion.

How do I cancel a booking?

Open the booking in your account dashboard and select Cancel — you'll see exactly what's refundable before confirming.

Your Account & Documents

What's in the Documents & forms tab?

Once you have an office coverage or event booking, your dashboard shows a Documents tab with a signed agreement copy, W-9 request, certificate of insurance request, the malpractice declaration page, and coverage guidelines.

Can I request a video interview with the doctor?

Yes, once you have a booking — a "Request video interview" option appears on your booking in the dashboard. These are 10-minute calls, Monday–Friday, 12:00–1:00pm, confirmed by email.

How do I leave a review?

Once a booking is paid in full — including the remaining balance for office coverage — a "Leave a review" option appears on that booking in your dashboard.

Can I specify dress code or techniques I'd like followed?

Yes. The booking form includes a Coverage details section covering dress code, techniques (Diversified, Gonstead, Thompson, Spinal Decompression, Manual Therapy, Ultrasound, E-Stim), any other notes, and a day-of point of contact.
